Kiln-Dried Sand
MRP Sand Quarry is a Queensland producer of kiln-dried sand: washed quartz sand, dried in our own kiln and screened into closely controlled size fractions from 0.3 mm to 6 mm.
About this product
Kiln-dried sand is washed sand taken through our kiln and then screened. Drying is what makes precise sizing possible: moist sand clumps and blinds a screen, whereas dry sand flows freely and separates cleanly at each mesh. It is why a dried sand can be produced to a grading that a moist sand cannot.
The result is a range of tightly graded fractions between 0.3 mm and 6 mm, each with a defined particle size, produced to order at our quarry at Talgai on the Darling Downs. Because the material is dry it also stores, flows and blends reliably, which is what synthetic turf infill, paving and jointing sand, filter media and dry-mix products all depend on. Every step — washing, drying and screening — happens on our own site in Queensland, so the sand is the same from one delivery to the next.
