MRP sand and blend for sports and turf
Synthetic turf uses a dry, free-flowing sand as infill. Natural turf needs a root zone that drains and supports growth. MRP supplies kiln-dried sand for infill and organic under-turf blend for natural fields, sports grounds and top dressing. Both from our own site at Talgai, Queensland.
What turf contractors need from us
Infill is spread by machine and brushed into the pile, so it has to be dry, clean and sized to the turf product. Moist sand sits on top and never reaches the backing. A root zone has to drain, resist compaction under foot and mower traffic, and hold enough moisture and nutrient for the turf to establish.
How we make it
Kiln-dried sand is washed, dried in our kiln and screened to a close fraction between 0.3 mm and 6 mm. It arrives dry and at the size the installer asks for. Organic under-turf blend is a sandy loam topsoil mixed with organic matter: the loam gives structure and drainage, the organic matter holds moisture and feeds the turf.
