MRP filter sand for water treatment
Filter sand is specified by effective size and uniformity coefficient. MRP produces kiln-dried sand sized between 0.3 mm and 6 mm to those specifications, for filter beds and support layers. Made on site at our own quarry at Talgai, Queensland.
What water treatment operators need from us
Effective size (D10) sets how fine a particle the bed captures and how fast it clogs. Uniformity coefficient (D60/D10) sets how evenly the bed filters and backwashes. Meeting both takes a sand screened to a narrow fraction, and the same fraction every time the bed is topped up or rebuilt.
How we make it
Filter sand has to be washed, dried so it can be screened accurately, and screened to a close fraction. That is what our kiln-dried range is. Silt and clay are removed in the wash plant, the sand is dried in our kiln, and it is screened to the specified size. Support layers are sized from the same range.
Ordering and delivery
Bulk supply throughout Queensland. Send the effective size and uniformity coefficient, or the sieve band, plus the tonnage and the delivery point. If the project needs grading results for the supply, say so when you enquire.
