MRP bunker sand for golf courses
A bunker has to drain, give a playable surface, and stay on the faces. MRP supplies kiln-dried sand screened to a close fraction where the specification is tight, and washed sand where it is broader. Same quartz sand, one deposit, processed on our own site at Talgai, Queensland.
What superintendents need from us
Bunker sand is specified closely: particle size, grain shape, colour, and often a measured ball penetration. A bunker that is too soft, too firm or slow to drain draws a complaint from every golfer who lands in it. And a course tops bunkers up for years, so every top-up has to match what is already there.
How we make it
Washed sand is put through our wash plant to remove the silt and clay that crust the surface and hold water, then screened to grade. Kiln-dried sand is washed, dried in our kiln and screened to a tight fraction between 0.3 mm and 6 mm. Send us the specification and we will advise which product and fraction meets it.
