What is the difference between washed sand and unwashed sand?

Unwashed sand retains its natural silt and clay content. Washed sand has had that fraction removed by water, leaving clean quartz grains with a controlled grading. Some products, such as thermal bedding sand, are deliberately left unwashed because the fines are needed for compaction; concrete sand is washed.

No. MRP supplies mortar, render, tile-bed and screed sand from the kiln-dried range, which is dried and sized for the purpose. Washed sand is supplied for concrete, asphalt, paving bedding, arenas, bunkers, playgrounds and landscape supply.

Yes. The Talgai deposit is quartz, and quartz is crystalline silica; washed quartz sand and washed silica sand describe the same material.
