MRP sand and fill for data centres
A data centre needs large building platforms and power infrastructure on the scale of a substation. MRP supplies select fill for the platforms and thermal bedding sand for the high-capacity cables that feed the site. Both are produced at our own quarry at Talgai, Queensland, and delivered in bulk.
What data centre projects need from us
The power feed is the critical path. Cables have to run at full rated capacity, which depends on the backfill around them carrying heat away. That means a sand that compacts densely with few air voids. The platform under the building has to be a controlled fill: uniform material, placed in layers and compacted to the engineer's density, with testing to prove it.
How we make it
Thermal bedding sand is screened and graded with its fines kept in, not washed, so it packs tightly around the cable and gives a low thermal resistivity. Select fill is screened to a consistent granular material that compacts the same way in every layer. One deposit, one plant, so the material does not change over a long build.
Ordering and delivery
Data centre builds run to tight programs. We schedule deliveries against the program and supply by the truckload. We deliver throughout Queensland, with South East Queensland as the regular run. Send the specification, the tonnage and the site and we will confirm.
